Function

Sopra Banking Software have an opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our UK Finance team. Working as part of a small but collaborative team you will ensure timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices and credit notes, reconciliation and analysis, plus other ad-hoc tasks.

As a Finance Assistant you will be responsible for performing the following duties:

• Shared responsibility for the Accounts payable function, ensuring invoices and credit notes are processed accurately and in a timely manner
• Ensuring all cash is allocated correctly and promptly and bank accounts reconciled
• Providing support on balance sheet reconciliations and analysis including preparing journals;
• Assisting the team with the expense and credit card processes;
• Assisting with month end tasks and the annual audit process;
• Investigation and resolution of queries;
• Other ad hoc tasks and analysis as required;
• Providing holiday cover for other members of the team;
• Ensuring the Group’s financial rules and procedures are observed.

Profile

To be a successful Finance Assistant it would be beneficial to:

• Have a Maths qualification at GCSE or above
• Have experience using Microsoft packages particularly Excel
• Be a clear verbal and written communicator
• Have some entry level experience within a finance team
• Demonstrate accurate work and attention to detail
• Be disciplined in managing your own workload, working to deadlines
• Be proactive in solving problems
• Work with discretion at all times due to sensitive data

Starting salary of £20,000 - £23,000 p/a

As part of our hiring process new employees will be required to pass a confidential consumer credit check and DBS check. This is a straight forward credit check for CCJ’s, bankruptcy and a criminal record check, however if you wish to know more about what is or is not acceptable please ask our recruitment team.
