Sopra Banking Software is recruiting an Automation Test Analyst to join our existing Process and Quality team within Professional Services. The Automation Test Analyst is required to perform any testing activities typically undertaken within the software development lifecycle and is responsible for test script creation and execution.

There are four principal elements of the role:

1. Analysis and Planning – Identifying manual functional test conditions and creation of test plans and scripts.

2. Test Execution – Execution of manual functional and regression test scripts and capturing evidence.

3. Defect lifecycle – accurately record, review and retest defects found in the system under test.

4. Providing the automation department with regression test scripts to add to the automated regression suite.

The main duties are:

  • Automation Testing – Micro Focus UFT, Selenium, Postman and Protractor

  • Performance Testing –Micro Focus Load Runner and JMeter

  • Ability to analyse the non-functional requirement & impact analysis

  • Non-Functional Test effort estimation based on non-functional requirements

  • Test planning based on non-functional requirements

  • Non-Functional Test reporting and progress monitoring

  • Risk assessment for requirements

  • Assertiveness to not compromise quality

  • Clear communication skills

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Mentor junior members of the team

As a Test Analyst within Professional Services it is important you are able to liaise with customers and listen to the customers’ needs.


Desired candidate profile

We are interested in hearing from you, if you have most of the following attributes:

  • Experience in Test Automation

  • Experience in Performance Testing

  • Experience using Performance Monitoring tools

  • Very strong test estimation and test approach definition from non-functional requirements

  • Financial products test experience

  • Managing progress on non-functional testing against the requirements

  • Positive attitude to continuous improvement and learning new tools

  • Flexibility

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills

  • ISTQB Foundation

  • Work with developers / DBA on analysing non-functional results

  • Mentoring skills / experience

It would be beneficial but not essential to have:

  • Knowledge and/or experience of the Mortgage/Banking/Financial domain will be a plus

  • Knowledge and/or experience of the Agile/iterative methodology.

  • SQL query/MSAccess

  • FIT/FITNESSE experience desirable

Ideally the Test Analyst will be educated to ISTQB Software Testing at foundation level as a minimum requirement.
